How Does the DVR Work?DVR stands for digital video recorder. It is a tapeless device that stores video on a hard drive. DVRs convert images received from analog cameras to a digital signal. To incorporate a DVR into your surveillance system, cameras with cables are hooked up to the DVR through BNC jacks on the back of the Digital Video Recorders DVR box. The DVR then outputs the information to a CCTV or PC monitor.
